What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Bringing a Medical Autobiography to Life:
The Power of Illustrations

"What Could Possibly Go Wrong" (original Dutch title: "Wat Kan Er Nou Misgaan?") tells the story of Marijn van den Biggelaar's challenging medical journey. Over the course of eight years, Marijn underwent a total of 14 shoulder surgeries, 5 hip surgeries, 2 knee surgeries, and 1 thyroid surgery.

To make Marijn's story more accessible to readers, we collaborated with Trichis Publishing to create a visual representation of her complex medical history. The underlying message of Marijn's story is an important one: as a patient, it's crucial to educate yourself, speak up, and stay brave. By doing so, you may discover new opportunities for healing in unexpected places.
